For more than a decade, Dan has focused on creating software and data standards to help healthcare providers deliver better care to patients. He collaborates with provider organizations, payer organizations, academic groups, and startup teams to leverage open standards to rapidly design and deliver interoperable patient-facing apps, provider-facing apps, clinical decision support services, and population health analytic tools. Through his work with Harvard Medical School, the HL7 organization, and the SMART on FHIR project, Dan joins forces with developers around the world to develop and improve open standards, including FHIR, SMART, and CDS-Hooks. Previously, Dan served as the head of technology for the SMART on FHIR Project at Boston Children’s Hospital, and he’s led software teams delivering challenging projects at the New York City Department of Health and JPMorgan. An experienced software developer, Dan has a master’s degree in health policy from NYU.
