DevDays 2026 Call for Presentations
Deadline submission: January 31, 2026
Call for Presentations
You’re invited to share your experience, lessons, and ideas with the global FHIR community at HL7 FHIR DevDays 2026 in Minneapolis, MN.
DevDays is where leaders, implementers, clinicians, policymakers, vendors, and innovators come together to learn from real-world FHIR projects. If you’re working with FHIR in production or have hard-won lessons from large-scale initiatives, we’d love to hear from you.
Submit your proposal before February 1, 2026.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for presentations that either:
- Share lessons from real-life FHIR projects: Production or pilot implementations with clear scope, architecture, outcomes, and practical lessons learned.
- Explain national or regional FHIR initiatives: Overviews of core profiles, national IGs, accelerators, or regulatory programs, including governance, collaboration, and adoption strategies others can reuse in their own jurisdiction.
This proposal should also include a focus on implementation and real-world impact. You should clearly note:
- Implementation status: live or in pilot
- Users reached: number/type of organizations, regions, or user groups
- Outcomes: measurable outcomes where possible (e.g., time saved, reduced errors, better access, etc.)
Non-commercial: no product pitches
DevDays is a community event, not a sales pitch.
- Sessions must be solution- and experience-driven, not product demos.
- If you’re a vendor, and want to share a project, the story should be presented from the customer’s perspective (ideally co-presenting with them). Focus on use case, implementation journey, and outcomes – not on features or pricing.
- Interested in visibility for your product or brand? Contact us about our sponsorship opportunities instead.
How to structure your submission
1. Title of your presentation
- Use a clear, self-explanatory title.
2. Summary / abstract
- Keep it concise and focused.
- Highlight: the problem or context, what you did with FHIR, and the key takeaways for attendees.
3. Target audience
Please specify:
- Level: beginner / intermediate / advanced
- Role(s): e.g., developer, architect, implementer, clinician, payer, policymaker, vendor, etc.
4. Session length
- Standard format: 15 minutes talk + 5 minutes Q&A
- Keep your story tight and practical: what can someone take home and apply?
Speaker benefits
Accepted speakers receive a 25% discount on the DevDays registration fee (maximum of one speaker discount per presentation).
Got something different in mind?
If you have a concept that doesn’t quite fit the standard format, for example:
- A debate or panel concept
- A hands-on clinic or interactive workshop
- Something completely different that would make DevDays special
Use the open question on the submission form to pitch it. Let your creativity go wild. Anything goes!
